Aurelia Colombi Ciacchi is a Professor of Law and Governance at the Law Faculty of Groningen University. Her main areas of expertise include the impact of EU fundamental rights on private relationships, and comparative law in Europe. Since 2002, she has been involved as a (team) leader or principal investigator of several EU funded projects concerning EU fundamental rights and their impact on national law. She leads the Groningen team of the JuLIA project together with its principal investigator, Lottie Lane, and Tobias Nowak. The three of them already led the Groningen team of the European judicial training project “Fundamental Rights in Court and Regulation” (FRICoRe). Beside her research, Aurelia teaches EU Law.
