This website www.julia-project.eu is part of the research project “Justice, fundamental rights, and Artificial Intelligence” (JULIA), project funded by the DG Justice of the European Commission (Grant 101046631).
Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (“General Data Protection Regulation” or “GDPR”) applies to any processing of personal data conducted by the project.

We will not make individual decisions based solely on automated processing as qualified by article 22 of the GDPR, with legal implications for the data subject or that may affect the data subject in a similar manner.
We do not carry out international transfers of data. However, many IT providers have their servers outside the European Union and the European Economic Area (EEA). Therefore, it is possible that some of our providers may be located outside the EEA. In this case, and only when strictly necessary to operate on the Platform, we will carry out international transfers.
In any case, we have already entered into the contracts or will enter into the required legal commitments to ensure that these providers offer adequate guarantees equivalent to those provided by EU law.
We are aware of the importance of privacy and data protection regulations. Accordingly, the protection of the security, integrity and confidentiality of our users’ information is very important for us. Therefore, it is our firm intention to act in a responsible way in this regard.
UPF reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy in accordance with the provisions of the Terms of Use.
